New ebook format TREEbook debuts. According to Publishers Weekly, independent publisher and entertainment firm Medallion Media Group will launch this  “innovative new e-book format that features an underlying time-triggered reading experience that allows the book to generate multiple story-lines based on individual reading pace and other embedded triggers.”

Parents preferred print. According to Digital Book World, a new survey found “parents prefer reading print books with their children over digital options and they believe that their children prefer being read to in print, too.”

Publishers fight DOJ suit. PaidContent reported that both Penguin and Macmillian filed responses to the DOJ suit. See their full responses here.
